Drill‐bit position monitoring using seismic‐while‐drilling data; numerical and field examples from Sweden

چکیده
Abstract The undesired drill‐bit deviation is a source of drilling risks and requires monitoring. Seismic‐while‐drilling one potential method to achieve this has been tested in number previous studies. In August 2020 Örebro, Sweden, we conducted an experiment test the feasibility seismic‐while‐drilling positioning other applications method. We used hammer signal generated while 200 m deep well hardrock conditions implemented vertical stacking subsequent impulsive signals from source, generating enhanced direct arrivals drill‐bit. Then, relative arrival times estimate position for selected bit depths, confirming our methodology with two numerical successfully estimated examples several real data examples, accuracy dependent on receiver array geometry quality data. conclude that shows near‐real‐time monitoring operations could be applicable both noise‐retrieved signals.

Ancestral Inference from Functional Data: Statistical Methods and Numerical Examples
Many biological characteristics of evolutionary interest are not scalar variables but continuous functions. Here we use phylogenetic Gaussian process regression to model the evolution of simulated functionvalued traits. Given function-valued data only from the tips of an evolutionary tree and utilising independent principal component analysis (IPCA) as a method for dimension reduction, we const...
متن کاملComparison of surface salinity of Persian Gulf water using field data and FVCOM numerical model
This paper investigates and estimates the surface salinity changes of the Persian Gulf using the FVCOM numerical model. Sea level salinity (SSS) is one of the important parameters in oceanographic studies. The Persian Gulf is a semi-closed and shallow sea, which is high in the Persian Gulf due to its low rainfall, salinity and water density. One of the limitations of this region is the lack of ...
متن کاملUpscaling of Permeability Field of Fractured Rock System: Numerical Examples
When the permeability field of a given porous medium domain is heterogeneous by the existence of randomly distributed fractures such that numerical investigation becomes cumbersome, another level of upscaling may be required. That is such complex permeability field could be relaxed i.e., smoothed by constructing an effective permeability field. The effective permeability field is an approximati...

In order to assess the satellite data for soil investigation, ASTER digital data 20 June 2006, field study and phisiochemical properties of soil, were analyzed. All landcover classes including soils are classified based onmorphological and physico-chemical characteristics. Images were geocorrected and photomorphic units were selected based upon visual interpretation and sampling in study area. ...
متن کاملIncremental Rule Learning and Border Examples Selection from Numerical Data Streams
Mining data streams is a challenging task that requires online systems based on incremental learning approaches. This paper describes a classification system based on decision rules that may store up–to–date border examples to avoid unnecessary revisions when virtual drifts are present in data. Consistent rules classify new test examples by covering and inconsistent rules classify them by dista...
